At IDoTheDressIDo, we offer a unique and personalized bridal experience unlike anything you’ll find at traditional salons. To help you prepare for your appointment, we’ve compiled answers to some of the most common questions our brides ask!
We are your GO-TO Wedding Dress shop in San Antonio!
1. How do you keep your dresses SOOOOO affordable?
Great question – and one we love to answer! At IDoTheDressIDo, we source our gowns from just about every imaginable place: trusted brokers, direct-from-the-designer deals, wholesale suppliers, and even high-end boutiques that are overstocked or closing their doors.
What really sets us apart, though, is our commitment to you. We take the time to really listen your style, your vision, your budget and then we do what we do best: match you with a gown that fits all three. Beautiful dress, beautiful price. We do it every day, and we can’t wait to do it for YOU.
2. How many dresses do you have to choose from? What styles, sizes, and designers do you carry and do you order dresses?
We keep things exciting around here! At any given time, we typically have 1,000+ dresses in stock, and our inventory changes almost daily as new gowns arrive. That means every day offers fresh options and new possibilities!
We carry a huge variety of styles, colors, fabrics, and silhouettes from sleek and simple to dramatic and detailed. Our dresses range in size from 00 to 32, with plenty of options in every size category.
And it’s not just dresses we also have a wide selection of veils, tiaras, headpieces, bridal belts, and more. Need petticoats? We’ve got you covered with 6-hoop, 3-hoop, and an impressive collection of A-line styles.
As for ordering: our focus is on finding your dream dress right here, right now. We do not typically order dresses because we believe in the magic of walking out knowing you’ve found
*the one* without the long wait.

3. How many people can I bring to my appointment?
We ask that you limit your group to six people total, including the bride. This helps ensure a relaxed and enjoyable experience for everyone.
While we adore little ones, we kindly ask that children stay home both for their safety and to give the bride the chance to fully enjoy her appointment.
Please note that strollers cannot be accommodated in the shop.
Want to celebrate with a bigger group? We’ve got you covered! Ask us about booking a
Private Bridal Fitting: you’ll have the entire salon to yourself. We even offer catering options to make it extra special. Call us at 210-592-6433 for details.
Celebrating with Champagne? Absolutely! You're welcome to bring bubbly for your party. There's just a $20 corkage fee, and we’ll provide champagne glasses and refrigerator space.
Please note: outside food is not allowed during any appointment.
4. What should I wear to my appointment?
Great question! Your bridal consultant will be assisting you in and out of dresses,
**underwear is required** for all appointments.
As for bras don’t stress, Most wedding gowns have built-in support, and cups are usually sewn in during alterations. Some brides choose to wear a bra during their try-on, while others go without to see how the dress will look without straps in the way. It’s entirely up to your comfort level.
Spanx or shapewear? Totally optional. Most wedding gowns are designed with a full internal structure (we call it a “cage”) that provides plenty of shaping and support no need to bring anything extra unless you want to.
Shoes: Please leave them at home! We do not allow shoes during appointments. You’ll stand on a pedestal so you can get the full effect of your gown without needing heels.
5. How long are your appointments?
Appointments are scheduled for 1.5 hours. This gives you plenty of time to explore different styles, try on your favorites, and (hopefully!) say yes to the dress.
That said, every bride is different some appointments are shorter, and some may take a little longer. We’re here to support you at your pace and make the experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible.
6. What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that things come up but because each appointment reserves dedicated time with a bridal consultant, we ask that you cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance.
If you are charged the fee and choose to reschedule, the $50 may be applied as a credit toward the purchase of a dress.
Please note: There are no exceptions to this policy.
7. Do I need an appointment to come in and look around?
Yes, appointments are required if you’d like to try on dresses. You can book your bridal appointment anytime through our BOOK NOW page.
If you’d just like to browse our inventory, ask questions, or shop for veils and accessories, you’re welcome to walk in anytime during our open hours no appointment needed!
Please note: We are CLOSED on Tuesdays and Sundays.
8. How do I book an appointment?
Booking your appointment is quick and easy! Just follow these simple steps:

Step 2: Fill out and submit the “Tell Us About Yourself” form
Step 3: Click “View Available Dates & Times” to choose your appointment
Step 4: Check your text or email for a confirmation after booking

12. Do you do alterations?
Most wedding dresses will need some level of alterations to ensure the perfect fit. While our skilled Bridal Consultants can give you a general idea of what may need adjustment, please note that we are not seamstresses and cannot provide specific price quotes.
The **average cost** for regular bridal alterations is typically between $300 - $700, but prices can vary. Some alterations may be more affordable, while others could be more expensive. For re-designs (which can range from simple tweaks to complete overhauls), it’s impossible to provide an accurate estimate without the seamstress seeing the dress in person sometimes not even until they begin working on it.
Alterations are an important consideration when purchasing a wedding dress it’s not "ready-to-wear" and requires skilled craftsmanship to ensure it fits perfectly. This is the most fitted gown of your life, and getting it just right is a key part of the process.
